Really cool stuff!
While I agree it may get monotonous when the parts begin to repeat, I definitively see a huge potential of variety before it gets old.
I also liked how you did the demonstration, it's a fun 'diagram' to watch (/comment from someone into graphic design).
It would be great to see more variations on this system (with different colors/'materials' as you mentioned) on a game!

1st generation POKEMANZ never get old. The shading is very cool and suits nicely on this twisted gengar.
His left leg is kind of weird,thouhg . At first it looked like a hole or something, HUh.
still, it looks GREAT.

I like this kind of 'bigger' pixel art (by that i mean, 'big' drawings, but at a resolution where you can still see a little square and say "that's a pixel!"), and the shading looks fine too. It could have some more stuff going on, but it's still GROOVY.

Snake?

I don't get it, the arrows on the socks are pointing up, but the ones on her minipants(?) are pointing down, so, there's something 'cool' in between, like, an easter egg on her knees?

Heh, i like the expressions, and the 'twisted' composition.
Something that's more like a 'detail' is that the 'font' you used for the 'Merry Christmas' doesn't fit that much with the rest of the drawing. Maybe you could use a more 'dinamic' text to 'fill' the whole empty space at the left-up side (just an alternative, it still looks nice :)).
