Niice! Must say the first time playing I got super stuck with the demon's riddle, then decided to give it another shot (had to look at the walkthrough for the riddle though, it's a clever one but though to figure out early in the game)
After that, it took me a bit of trying stuff around, but managed to figure out the rest of the game, Success!!!
'SPOILER' - I have to say the 'Aha!' moment where I found out how to get the Apple with CMD powers was a great one, easily the best part, it's cool how the game actually tells you how, but at first you don't think it's something you can actually interact with. After that it was satisfying to solve everything else smoothly.

BoMToons responds:

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you got to the "aha!"

This was pretty cool! I enjoyed the idea of just playing around and go for the strategy of your choice with only the 5 dice as resources, along with the abilities earned through enemy loot. I liked the concept of the rat fighting trash monsters, and the artwork was nice and vibrant.

My only nitpick is that it had me fidgetting for a while before I properly understood a few things, for example it's great that it allows you to re-roll, but it doesn't explicitly tells you that the dice you 'Remove' will actually be re-rolled, so at first I thought 'Why would I remove dice?, is there a good reason to play with fewer of them'? After you do it once it becomes clear but I wish it would have been more explicit about it.
Also at first I wasn't sure how to attack the defense core, took me a while to realize trips meant 'triples', for a while I tried using 3 or 6 but eventually figured it out.

That said, awesome work!

Elastiskalinjen responds:

Thank you! It is easy for me to say "it is just pico being pico" but some bits could be made a bit more clear. Glad most people figure it out and not being to harsh about it!

Whew. It took me 13 years, but I finally beat it!!
After Tom mentioned it in one of the recent 'Showcased Flash without Flash' posts I came back and at last got it done! So here's an old fashioned review.

This was a fun one to return to, mechanics are easy to get into and it's neat how they lend to the mix of action and puzzle. Enemies made it a lot harder than I expected though, some had to be avoided with reaaally thight jumps and there's little invincibility frames after a hit.

Music is great! the main theme is one of the things that kept going on the last levels.

Level variety was fun, especially with the frequent boss fights. level 14 was the hardest but I liked how it had a fun progression as you go up.

Quite satisfying to finally beat this one, really makes you appreciate the capabilities of Flash.
Also, that joke at the end, really takes me back to an earlier internet.

13 years late, but good stuff!
(makes me wonder if an Alkie Kong 3 was ever considered)

PsychoGoldfish responds:

I had some big plans for Allie Kong 3 that will probably never happen.

It would have been a similar platform/puzzle game in more of a drunk Willy Wonka setting. Alkie Kong, Altrio and a few others would be playable characters you could switch between, with a new antagonist.

Who knows, maybe someday I’ll find a talented artist, with a quirky/whimsical style, who wants to see a third game bad enough to make it happen.

Niiice I'm really surprised with the amount of content you got together in a few weeks! I enjoyed the artwork, both from character portraits and sprite animation.

Power ups are pretty cool, the instant dashing, while dangerous to use is great when pulled off correctly, and it's awesome to finally find a weapon and fight back with your huge hitbox.

In terms of difficulty I think it had a good enough curve, but it got quite insane on the latter portion. I got as far as getting Death's Games, which was a hard stretch that took me 10+ tries, but after dying in the way back with the item I decided to move on. I think controls (especially on pc games) are a bit relative to the player preference, but considering the speed of the game I didn't find it as comforable to do character movement (jumps included) with one hand while also clicking the mouse for timing specific actions with the other. While it was achievable it got a bit tiresome over time and I began doing worse lol.

That said, awesome job!

Stopsignal responds:

First of all, let me tell you, i *love* your stuff, man! Your style just emanates personality, it's great

With that out of the way, thanks a lot for playing!!! Hahaha, it's alright. It is indeed quite a difficulty spike, and though i worked on smoothing it a bit (was worse before) looks like it wasn't enough!
Thank you so much for playing, again!! I've already played your game, should probably do a review, hahaha

Niice!
At first I was a bit lost with all of the darkness, but thankfully I found the torch in time and after that it was smooth sailing navigating the rest of the building, When starting the map felt pretty big but it didn't took long for me to realize it was a pretty manageable size, which is something I like in exploration games.

Maybe a nitpick could be having more texture variety on different rooms to help orientation, but in any case this was really unique, I really like how you've been working with the claymation graphics on different genres!

Guy-Unger responds:

Yeah you're right, there's just one texture for all the walls and floors because the world was put together very quickly, but it would've been well worth the time to have at least some floors or something to help people not get lost.
I tried the game on a couple of different monitors and there's a big difference in brightness, I get why gloomy games always have a darkness slider. Thank you!

Wow, a revival of Dress Up games!? Now that takes me back!
Hadn't played one of these in a while, pretty fun to just try the different stuff on Tom.

MKMaffo responds:

Gonna make him look stylish!

Niiice!

Visually the clay designs are great and pretty well implemented with some nice bluring effects.

It began pretty easy with just button mashing but by level 5 it became a bit more complex fighting the green and purple robots. The boss fight was a fun change of pace with the added hazards and it was cool to play around with the enemies being able to hit the spikes too, at some point it got so convoluted that I lost like 90% of my hp by getting bounced all over the place in one insane combo, hahah!

Also a small nitpick but the resolution was a bit high on the Y axis for my screen, so I wasn't able to see the whole thing when playing.

Good stuff! I'll have to look into the chicken game! :)

Guy-Unger responds:

Thanks Antonio! I was just checking if you put anything out recently, I miss your animations!

Nice and simple 'arcade 'dodging" game, especially Home which, simple as it is, makes for a good challenge, sometimes having to take more risky mouse moves because you're running out of nearby 'logs'.
It's also appealing in terms of visuals, a good (and not so obvious) example of how to make a good use of simple shapes and colors .

Did the music inspire some of the game or was it more of a later fitting addition?

StuffedWombat responds:

thanks :D

I made the games & then spend some time looking for fitting music. :D

Neat demake!
I found it responsive and satisfying, but It does start out pretty relentless on the amount of obstacles thrown at the player, it made me wish that the jumping was a bit more similar to Ghouls n' Ghosts in that Leon could have had a slightly slower fall, as there are many obstacles where the window to get through was reaally narrow because of brief air-time.
That said, checkpoints were on point and it was a fun byte-sized challenge.

Gypopothomas responds:

Thanks! I'm gonna message with the jump a bit, it still doesn't work exactly as I want. I like GnG's fixed jump. No turning in the air. Hmm...

Pretty fun execution of a simple control scheme that gets really challenging due to the evolving level design. this goes especially for the levels where you're forced to make sharp turns, or even learn how to lower your overall speed by rotating on a particular rhythm or boosting on the opposite way for lack of a 'brake' command.
I liked how unique the boss levels were. I managed to get to the snake boss which I found pretty brutal as an endurance, but seems manageable with enough practice and patience.
Good work!

RIDETHEPIG responds:

Thanks! I made the Master Coil a little easier, it seems like lots of people are getting stuck there.

Helloe! I'm a 2D Animator from Chile, and sometimes Game Developer (actually, Newgrounds got me into animation!) I post some personal cartoons and drawings every once in a while! Cheese and lizards are cool too. Bzzzztt!!
