Hey!

This is the coolest thing i've seen today!, i like the funny expression of the father and the 'tattoo'(?) suits him very well'''

patricklandeck responds:

yeah, it's a tattoo.....or well, I guess since it's bird..his feathers just grew in like that.

Icecream!

Looks like the mind of an icecream cone, or some cool stuff like that'

JessePants responds:

Hot damn. Your correct

Just a little too...

FRIENDLY...

Pink nose!

I like how everything in this 'little test' (including the character) is twisted in some way. giving place to a 'weird' ambient (that's a good thing), also, nice colors.
I'm not that sure, but this soldier-dude could have some shading, atleast on his "cloak".

Wolfenheim responds:

yeah, i agree with the shading, but if this was animated i dont think i would shade him, but for a standalone image i agree :) thanks for the comment!

great!

Really 'neat' characters, nice anatomy, i would like to know a little more about them!

dommi-fresh responds:

well basically rosskemp is a real life person who is famous for being an english cockney geezer in "eastenders" an old soup opera. then he moved on to do more serious documentaries on gangs, wars, pirates and neo nazis.

fish boy is a little side kick i made up for him.

just a little joke really....
thanks for the review.

Enjoyable.

This deserves to be seen by a lot of people...in an exhibition or something...
It also could be great done as a flash animation.

<deleted> responds:

thx man!

Grotesque in a fine way.

Oh.
Hi there Mr Mullod!

Urh-Pointiers.

I just read your 'New' and felt like giving some pointiers :P
-the body has too many straight lines, they're okay for some parts like the arms, but you may add some curved lines here and there in the body, to make it look more 'natural'.
-that Goomba fellow doesn't look like being stepped-over by Mario, you may put him 'a little more up' and with part of Mario's feet over it, or try other things.
-About the shading, a suggestion is to put an imaginary light source on the drawing. that way you will know which parts get light and which ones are in shadows (probably not the best explanation...just look for a shading tutorial).
Anyway, good thing you have some style on it, and i hope you keep developing it.

ChandlerThompson responds:

I never thought about the straight line bit on the arms, you make an excellent point on that. The reason the Goomba looks so poor is because I was going to add one so I quickly rushed it, your pointer will definately help me out. I got the majority of the tip on shading, but I'll look out for a shading tutorial. I appreciate the excellent review!

HUHrhm!

There's something odd about the arms, but the colors are delicious!

For some reason...

this makes me think about cucumbers..,

Helloe! I'm a 2D Animator from Chile, and sometimes Game Developer (actually, Newgrounds got me into animation!) I post some personal cartoons and drawings every once in a while! Cheese and lizards are cool too. Bzzzztt!!
